A big idea with 5 connected futures

The Trophy Economy

Everyone sees the animal. Someone sees the first person to eat it.

Firstness. Rarity. Status. Provocation.

Typical futurism puts de-extinct animals in a zoo. I see a trophy economy: hunts sold before the animal is born, designer pets, and restaurants built on the prestige of being among the first humans ever to eat it.

The science and the business needn’t belong to the same company. Gigantic brings the mammoth back; First Chance to Eat owns the hunts, the estates, the customers and the commercial rights.

Designer animals follow the same appetite: pocket dragons for private zoos, glow-in-the-dark wolves for a survival show, fur back in fashion because the markings fund conservation. Last Chance to Eat turns the protest itself into the product.

Different worlds.
The same transformation.
