Teenagers born in Germany were being sent to a country they had never lived in, because their parents were long-term refugees.
The children see themselves as culturally German, not Roma. In Kosovo, they sort rubbish on the tips and openly reject the Roma culture around them.
In Germany, children facing deportation voice their outrage at their parents: they accuse them of refusing to adapt or learn German, and blame those choices for society wanting them gone.
The film follows the children’s own outspoken views and family arguments to explore their sense of belonging to a country that is sending them away.
